A Boingy Game

Last week I had a talk with Tilly about recess. Sometimes when I am at the school, I see her with Cricket and her friends so I just wanted to make sure she was playing with kids her own age. She said she doesn't have anyone to play with because they all play a "Boingy Game" and she doesn't want to play that. I explained that sometimes you have to play what your friends like to play. On the way to school she was talking to Cricket and said it was a horse game. The next day I talked to Katie and she said Asha has been playing it too and she said it is "a game of midgets and horses." The whole story: they divide into two groups. The midgets pull the bottom of their shirts down as far as they will go and walk around squatted down. They ride and take care of the horses. The Boingy Game is all the rage at their elementary school. Who needs jump rope and four square, right?

What???

Okay so I haven't posted in a while and I doubt it really matters too much, but this blog is supposed to be my journal. In truth that says a mouth-full. I wish I could say I would to better, but the truth is I probably won't.

I just thought I would take a minute and write down the conversation I heard in the car yesterday.

Tilly: Mom guess what we saw at the park today? There was this tortoise that was best friends with two wienie dogs. They were just snuggling and playing.

Cricket: No Tilly. It wasn't a tortoise. It was a desert pig.

Tilly: Yeah I know Cricket. That's what a tortoise is- a desert pig.

-I guess I need to take my kids to the zoo so Tilly can see what a tortoise is and I can figure out what a desert pig is. And no I am not sure this happened at the park and not on tv.
